Texas' struggles leave Big 12 wide open

Because you see, the thing was, a couple weeks ago, it was such an unspeakable sin that Texas (gasp!) lost a game at all. And to such an apparent nobody as UCLA on top of that. (You know, a program from a major conference, with a Heisman winner in its past, with Norm Chow as its OC, etc. The horror!)
But now, the Longhorns have lost again and have been booted out of the Top 25, too. So maybe it wasn’t that losing to the Bruins was such a vapors-inducing debacle. Maybe it’s (gasp!) this year, that’s just what Texas is.
Hey, it happens to everybody, sooner or later. They’ll bounce back.
But in the meantime, in the Big 12, who benefits?
The easy answer is Oklahoma, which just clobbered the Longhorns last Saturday. With having won the head-to-head and UT seemingly swooning, the Sooners assume the Big 12 South driver’s seat. That, plus quarterback Landry Jones is becoming known for more than just bringing back the mustachioed look. Texas' struggles leave Big 12 wide open
