Aspiring hip-hopster Richard “Young Rich” Hilfiger, 20, was pulled over in Hollywood Aug. 1 and taken into custody after officers allegedly found two ounces of marijuana in his vehicle. Hilfiger claimed her purchased the ganja for medical purposes but was booked on one felony count of drug possession with intent to sell anyway. However, authorities in the cash-strapped state of California have declined to prosecute on the charge.
Last week, Governor Arnold Schwarznegger signed a new law that lowers possession of up to one ounce of marijuana to a mere summons or infraction rather than a misdemeanor. Basically having the stuff and getting caught would be similar to getting a speeding ticket.
