Are John Lennon and Sheila Lennon related? I don't know. My father was named Francis Lennon, his father, Patrick Lennon; his father, John Lennon, his father, Francis Lennon. That's as far back as we know. In Ireland, we were told that the Lennons of County Longford were originally from the north, now Northern Ireland.

John Lennon's father was Alfred, son of Jack, son of John. John emigrated from Fermanagh, due north of Longford in Northern Ireland, to the U.S., then moved to Liverpool where Alf was born, as was his son John.

So somewhere back there, we probably are related to the poets, musicians and priests that dominated that line.

We Lennons will toast John, wherever he might be, on his 70th birthday today. We hope you'll join us.
