mlb playoff schedule

The 2010 MLB playoff schedule is just about ready. The season is winding down, allowing the playoff schedule to get set in stone. We already know the four teams from the American League that will play in the MLB
Playoffs, and they include the New York Yankees, the Tampa Bay Rays, the Texas Rangers, and the Minnesota Twins.

In the 2010 American League playoffs, Minnesota will host the American League Wild Card Winner, and the American League East champion will host Texas. It is between the Yankees and the Rays to see who will take the Wild Card and who will win the A.L. East right now.

In the National League playoff schedule, we only know two of the teams, and they are the Philadelphia Phillies and the Cincinnati Reds. Both teams won their divisions, and now we are just waiting on the National League West and the National League Wild Card to be decided. Philadelphia has now clinched home field advantage throughout the playoffs, so they will host the playoff team with the worst record that is not in their division. Then the Cincinnati Reds would play the other team, with the team with the best record between those two teams also getting to host the first-round series. The team with the best record left in the second rounds will host at that point.

As for the 2010 MLB playoff schedule, games begin on Wednesday, Oct. 6. There will be three games on that night, with both American League games and the Philadelphia game taking place. From that point, there should be at least one game every night while the first four playoff series are played out. That will allow the American League Championship Series to begin on Friday, Oct. 15, and the National League Championship Series to begin on Saturday, Oct. 16. Each series is hosted by the team with the best record in that league and has survived the first round of the playoffs.
