Bridesmaid Dresses

Somewhere in Akron there's a woman without a dress.
It's a mystery that's been with Muriel Tillman since Friday evening.
Tillman, who resides and works in Akron, found the dress in the street. She is at a crossroads trying to decide what to do.
For starters, she's not sure if the dress is a wedding gown, a bridesmaid dress or just a beautiful formal. But she knows that it belongs to someone and she's done everything humanly possible to find its rightful owner.
Tillman said she found the dress around 5:30 p.m. Friday on North Street near the Akron Public Schools' transportation facility parking lot, under the bridge.
''It was as if someone tossed it from the bridge or perhaps it flew off the top of a car,'' Tillman said.
The gown was in a beautiful, pink ''wedding presentation'' garment bag.
''I tried calling the name of the company listed on the bag but they had gone out of business,'' Tillman said.
''I even went online, trying to find information but no luck there either.''
So, Tillman, in an effort to find the dress's owner, phoned me for help.
''I've had people suggest that I just put it on eBay and get some money for it,'' she said.
''But I'm not that kind of a person. I wouldn't feel comfortable doing that knowing that it belongs to someone.''
Obviously I'm hesitant to describe the dress for fear that the wrong person might step up to claim it.
As I was listening to Tillman, I couldn't help but wonder whether the dress belonged to a bride-to-be and whether it was lost or tossed because the groom-to-be somehow did her wrong and she wisely decided to call the wedding off.
At any rate, Muriel Tillman is anxious to know the real story — happy or sad.
So, if you're the one who lost or tossed the gown and can provide an accurate description, Tillman would be happy to reunite you with it, providing that is your wish.
Or you can give her the green light to find another body to shower with happiness.
